Daniel Wong | Chief Technology Officer, Research & Development
Daniel Wong leads Netatech’s technology development and research, bringing together expertise in water management, automation, Internet of Things (IoT), AI and digital systems to address environmental challenges.
Trained by Netafim and Mottech (Motorola Irrigation Control), Daniel has worked on water management and agricultural technology projects across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. His experience spans irrigation controls, rainwater harvesting, remote monitoring and cloud-connected systems.
In 2008, Daniel developed a hydroponic green wall in Singapore integrated with real-time online water control and monitoring. He subsequently incorporated cloud-based capabilities into rainwater harvesting and distributed water systems, building a foundation for more connected infrastructure management.
Daniel also brings experience in controlled-environment agriculture. In 2014, he and his team designed, built and operated a high-tech greenhouse in Singapore. He later developed Netatech’s proprietary Farm IoT platform using a scalable, serverless architecture and led technology and operations for Netafresh’s commercial greenhouse operations. This experience continues to inform his approach to integrating sensors, automation and operational data.
Today, Daniel applies his expertise in technology, AI and digital systems to Netatech’s environmental engineering work, including coastal protection projects. His focus is on connecting monitoring technologies and data to support assessment, informed decisions and the ongoing management of infrastructure.
Daniel was also a panel speaker at Singapore International Water Week 2026, where he discussed Climate OS and the role of connected digital systems in supporting climate resilience.
